Return Policies in Phase 2

As stores are reopening, many retailers have extended their return policies to accommodate for the abrupt store closures back in March and April. Many retailers announced closures of stores within 24 hours giving many customers no opportunities to return or exchange their merchandise.

Many stores will offer returns and exchanges outside of their normal policies due to extenuating circumstances. If you explain your situation to the store staff member, many stores would be willing to accommodate.

Here’s a round-up of return policies that many customers should be aware of:

Apparel and Fashion

lululemon

We can accept returns for items bought online or in-store in our stores once they reopen (as long as they weren’t final sale). Just bring proof of payment along, and make sure your items are unwashed and unworn, with tags attached. We’ve expedited our returns and exchanges process to speed things along.

Good news—we’ve extended our 30 day return policy. If you bought your gear on or after February 15th, you can return or exchange it in-store up to 30 days after your local store opens.

We’ve extended our online return policy. You can receive a full refund within 30 days from the shipping date or a merchandise credit within 45 days from the shipping date. After 45 days, we will no longer accept returns.

Sale items marked with a discount less than 50% can be returned for merchandise credit on a gift card if returned within 30 days of the shipping date. Sorry, no refunds to original form of payment for sale or discounted items.

Sale items marked with a discount of 50% or greater are final sale.

American Eagle Outfitters

You can wait as long as you need – there is no time limit to provide a full refund, charge back to a credit card, make an exchange, or issue an AE Gift Card.

For orders purchased at a store, please hold onto your items until your store reopens. This will make the return/refund process quicker and more efficient for YOU. If we send these returns back to the DC it will be processed in 2-4 weeks.

We will be temporarily extending our exchange policy to 30 days after stores open for purchases made after March 1st.

Currently we cannot process returns for products that were purchased in-stores until stores re-open. We are extending all in store returns to 14 days after the stores re-open. As we currently do not know when that will be, please keep your receipt and ensure your items meet all the requirements below.

Dynamite

If you are returning or exchanging a purchase in a store that’s reopened, you will be asked, before entering the store, to place your items in a clear plastic bag where they will remain in quarantine for 48 hours. The standard return/ exchange process will then take place at the cash.

All purchases made online and in-store after February 1st, 2020 can be refunded or exchanged in one of our stores up to 30 days after our store re-open. Online returns need to be mailed within 30 days from the date of purchase.

We gladly accept the return or exchange of unworn, unwashed or defective GUESS, Marciano GUESS kids, and GUESS Factory merchandise for up to 30 days after the shipment. Refunds for merchandise returned within the eligible time period will be credited in the same form as the original payment method except for purchases made with a GUESS gift card.

As we continue to monitor the developments of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), we have waived the return shipping fee for the time being. We will accept returns via mail for 90 days.

H&M will refund any item, provided that it has not been damaged, soiled, washed, altered or worn and that all labels and tags are attached. Sale Merchandise is Final Sale (applies to Store purchases only).

Any items bought between February 17th and March 17th, 2020 can be returned or exchanged until July 11th, 2020.

Items bought in store after May 11th, 2020 will follow the regular 30 day policy. All SALE items can be exchanged within 30 days of purchase, not returned. Restrictions apply to swimwear, underwear and select accessories.

Plenty will refund regular priced, unworn items within seven days of purchase with a valid receipt or proof of purchase. After this, an exchange or store credit will be issued up to 30 days from the original date of purchase. The original card used at purchase must be present for a refund. In its absence, a store credit will be issued.

Since we also know that you might need to stay home for a little while with your loved ones, all our Reitmans (Canada) Limited brands are temporarily extending their return policy. You will have 30 days from store re-opening to return in-store and online purchases made since February 1st. To ease returns for online orders, we have adjusted our current 30-day return policy and increased it to 60 days to be returned to the original method of payment. Sephora reserves the right to revoke or revise the Policy at its sole discretion.

Sephora in-store purchases may be returned if the product is in new or gently used condition within 30 days following the store re-opening with a receipt or gift receipt at a store location for a refund in the same form of payment as your purchase was made. If a gift receipt is presented, you will receive a store credit in the form of a Sephora merchandise credit.

If you recently bought a new Apple product and you want to return it within your 14 days, but you can’t because all of the Apple Stores are closed, don’t worry. The company plans to re-open its stores on March 27th, and any return windows that expired when the store was closed will last another 14 days.

We have established procedures in stores to safely manage returns and exchanges. If you made a purchase in store between February 21, 2020 and March 20, 2020, you will have the ability to return the item you purchased for an exchange or refund for a period of 30 days after your local store re-opens.
