A visit to Bonetti Meats, Langley, BC

On October 27, 2026, I visited Bonetti Meats in Langley, BC, an old-school Italian-Canadian butcher with prices posted on big wall boards. Its strengths are housemade smoked sausages at a flat $8.75/lb, AA/AAA Alberta beef, and a full Italian grocery in the back.

A whiteboard out front announced that pesto gouda was back, recommended the Colina Veneta cheese from Venice and the vegetarian pasta sauce, and noted the pizza dough and tiramisu were sold out. Inside, the counter wall is lined with ribbons and awards, plus a 2022 certificate of appreciation from the Fraser Valley Italo-Canadian Society.

The tables below are highlights only. For the full pricing, check out the photos below. A few handwritten prices are my best reading and are marked with “~”. Prices are as of my visit and will change.

I also spotted fresh musetti, a cotechino-style Italian pork sausage, in the fridge.

Deli meats, salami and cheese

The best deal in the deli was prosciutto ends on special at $9.95/lb, about half the price of sliced prosciutto. Cheeses are mostly Italian and Dutch, priced by the pound.

Italian pantry and extras

The back room is a small Italian grocery: La Molisana pasta, Italissima sauces and Arborio rice, polenta, panettone, olives, antipasto jars and La Famiglia Italian sodas. A “Grillmaster’s Hub” shelf carries Prairie Smoke & Spice rubs and other locally made seasonings. By the counter were local Heather’s Hazelnuts at $12 a bag, and outside the door a PK60 charcoal grill was for sale at $300 including taxes.

Final thoughts

For everyday shopping, the $8.75/lb housemade sausages, $5.99/lb ground pork and $9.95/lb prosciutto ends stand out. For stocking a freezer, the bulk boxes and the 5–10% bulk discount make Bonetti’s worth the drive. Steaks are priced close to The Butcher’s, but the Italian deli and grocery make this a different kind of stop.
