On October 27, 2026, I visited Pickleboy Foods, a covered farm stand in Langley, BC. Most produce is priced at $1.00–3.00/lb, which makes it one of the cheapest places I’ve found for fall vegetables.

Under a big white tent you’ll find crates of peppers, tomatoes, root vegetables and greens, a straw-covered pumpkin patch, and a long table of the stand’s own pickles and jams. Stainless steel fridges along the back hold free-run eggs, whole chickens and homemade pies.

The tables below are highlights only. For the full pricing, check out the photos below. Prices are as of my visit and will change.

Vegetables

Cabbage, turnips and squash are the cheapest at $1.00/lb. Peppers and tomatoes are $1.50/lb, and leafy greens are sold by the bunch.

ItemPrice
Squash, cabbage, turnips$1.00/lb
Tomatoes, bell peppers, Sheppard peppers$1.50/lb
Green beans, carrots, broccoli$2.50/lb
Yellow beans$3.50/lb
Kale, Swiss chard$3.00 each
Cauliflower$5.00, or 2 for $8.00

I also saw jalapeños ($3.00/lb), Brussels sprouts, beets, ginger, daikon and onions.

Fruit, garlic and nuts

Every kind of apple is a flat $1.50/lb. The local Red Russian garlic is the one premium item here, at $15.00/lb.

ItemPrice
Apples, all varieties$1.50/lb
Lemons, limes$1.50 each
Avocados$1.50 each
Local Red Russian garlic$15.00/lb
Whole hazelnuts (Heather’s Hazelnuts, in shell)$12.00/bag

Pickles, jams and pies

The stand lives up to its name with a long table of house-pickled vegetables in mason jars, most at $10–15.

ItemPrice
Pickled peppers made by Hudson (1 L jar)$15.00
Pickled turnips$12.00
Pickleboy Foods jams and syrups (500 mL)$12.00
Pickleboys pickled banana peppers (500 mL, regular or spicy)$10.00
Homemade apple or squash pie$15.00
Raspberry blackberry pie (special)$22.00

The pickled peppers also come in a mild spice version.

Eggs and chicken

Free-run eggs are $16.00, and they were stacked in 30-egg flats in the fridge. Whole chickens are labelled farm fresh and locally raised, with no antibiotics or added hormones, at about $6.00/lb. The one I photographed weighed 4.2 lb and came to about $25.

Final thoughts

If you’re stocking up on fall vegetables, Pickleboy is hard to beat: most produce is $1.00–2.50/lb, and apples, peppers and tomatoes are all $1.50/lb. Come for the cheap produce and take home a jar of pickles or a squash pie while you’re there.
