COVID-19 Update: July 27, 2020

Over the weekend, 81 new cases have been reported in British Columbia.

  • 36 new cases between Friday and Saturday
  • 21 new cases between Saturday and Sunday
  • 24 new cases between Sunday and Monday
  • 7 epidemiologically linked cases

81 new cases in BC (total: 3500; Δ 2.4%)
1064 VCH (prev: 1057; Δ 7; 0.7%; 30.4% of all)
1800 FHA (prev: 1764; Δ 36; 2.0%; 51.4% of all)
353 IHA (prev: 319; Δ 34; 10.7%; 10.1% of all)
143 VIHA (prev: 142; Δ 1; 0.7%; 4.1% of all)
80 NHA (prev: 79; Δ 1; 1.3%; 2.3% of all)
60 Outside Canada (prev: 58; Δ 2; 0.0%; 1.7% of all)
Total Active Cases: 264; 7.5% of total

11 Hospitalized (prev: 12; Δ -1; -8.3%; 0.3% of total)
3 ICU (prev: 3; Δ 0; 0.0%; 0.1% of total)
3043 recovered (prev: 2934; Δ 109; 3.7%; 86.9% of total)
193 deaths to date (prev: 191; Δ 2; 1.0%; 5.5% of total)
Recovery Rate: 86.9% Δ 1.1%

1010 individuals in BC are self-isolating as they have been identified as close-contact to an active COVID-19 case. Bonnie Henry stresses that this self-isolation order is mandatory, not optional.

Fraser Valley Packing is a new outbreak in Fraser Health. 15 cases associated with the plant.

Haida Gwaii has 14 active confirmed cases.

There is still 1 long-term care outbreak and 2 acute care outbreaks. There has been an increase of two staff members over the last three days.

There were two deaths in long-term care in Vancouver Coastal Health.

The surveillance report will come out on Thursday, July 30, 2020 for regional breakdowns.

Report tomorrow will be provided in a written format at around 3pm.

  1. Please make mask absolute in stores , all indoors ,elevators, buses, ….please go and check some of the stores also …many do not provides hand wash, …distancing has really been slack,. If everyone has to behave one way only then the rules will be listen too….the numbers will not go up ….that’s what we need
