Election Biography
Andy is a strong believer in grassroots, community leadership. He is running for a second-time in the civic elections because he believes we need new energy and fresh ideas for Coquitlam City Council. We need a City Councillor who won’t take voters for granted – but will carefully listen to the residents and stakeholders in our neighbourhoods, and take action
Andy has a strong passion for our country’s democratic tradition. He has worked on over 20 election campaigns, many which were successful, and is well-regarded by various government leaders throughout the Lower Mainland. Due to these strong connections, he is well equipped to work with others to get results for Coquitlam.
Andy has worked as a Constituency Assistant for a local Member of Parliament. He also sits on the City of Coquitlam Multiculturalism Advisory Committee.
Andy is active at Simon Fraser University, where he has studied Political Science and Computer Science. He served as the Director of Communications for a university organization, executive for a magazine, and sat on an Advocacy Committee for the Student Society where he fought for more accessible transportation and reasonable tuition rates. He is fluently trilingual in English, French, and Mandarin Chinese, and was the youngest candidate in the last municipal election
